Seeking After Righteousness

Isn’t it something that you never know how bad you are until you try to be good? Have you ever notice that when you try to do right you seem to do wrong; well my advice to you today is to live by the Holy Spirit and be led by him. Two ways we seek to achieve righteousness with God is either by law or grace. If you seek righteousness by one you cannot seek it by the other. Grace we cannot own or achieve by working for, it is received from God (Eph 2:8) through faith. To be righteous by keeping law, you have to keep the whole law ALL THE TIME, the law sometimes bring sin to light. Read and meditate on the books of Deuteronomy (emphasis 27:26), Galatians (emphasis 3:10), and James (emphasis 2:10, 11). Evangelists can agree with me that when they are out in the field evangelizing, sometime we hear us, “I know God, I read the bible, I don’t commit adultery etc.” No human can be righteous in God sight by keeping the law; we need to be saved so we can be made righteous through faith because of God’s mercy. The Book of Romans 7:5 says for when we were in the realm of the flesh, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in us, so that we bore fruit for death. Take courage, the mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. Be blessed today.
